Develop a roadmap for BlocPower’s new technology products such as IoT (Internet of Things) and DER (Distributed Energy Resources) to streamline delivery of building energy efficiency projects and improve upon BlocPower’s smart-connected building infrastructure. Work with BlocPower’s technology teams to build infrastructure to streamline and scale the business operation from project origination, project finance to construction management. Review energy assessments and utilize energy simulation software to model building HVAC loads and simulate the energy consumptions for small-to-medium sized commercial and multifamily buildings to propose financially viable energy conservation measures (ECMs). Lead building data analysis and building BlocPower’s engineering analysis algorithms to identify energy conservation and building operation improvement opportunities. Consult with clients concerning projects and facilitate workshops with clients and other project stakeholders to present engineering and financial analyses and assist in creating economic life-cycle assessments of energy efficiency and renewable projects. Lead energy services projects related to achieving energy efficiency in new construction and existing buildings through emerging solutions that take advantage of new, smart technologies as well as innovative approaches to demand response and energy generation. Identify human resource and training requirements and communicate them with upper management; develop training materials and train engineering and technical sales staff to conduct energy assessments. Guide clients through various sustainability and green building certification processes and formulate engineering solutions. *Supervises 2-3 full-time employees.
The position requires Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering, Energy Management, Building Sciences, or related field. The position also requires three (3) years of experience in job offered.
Professional experience must include: Building science and energy efficiency industry; Software product development; Hardware technology; Smart building environment and grid connectivity; Building infrastructure to streamline and scale the business operation from project origination, project finance, and construction management; Thermodynamics, heat transfer, psychometrics refrigeration cycles, building envelope construction, and materials to simulate the energy demands and usages of various building conditions; Mathematics and data analytics to analyze real-time building data; Providing technical support for clean energy projects at different stages; Building energy systems; Energy efficiency and the life cycle process of clean energy projects; Building HVAC and electrical system plans and components; Duct and piping design; Renewable energy technologies installation and analysis; U.S. building codes and regulations; and Formulating energy calculations to arrive at project solutions. **Experience may have been gained prior to Master’s degree conferment. ***Employee may work remotely from home office **Position requires limited travel (10%) across the United States.
