Launch video released as climate tech workforce program approaches 1,000 enrollees

New York, NY - October 19, 2021 -- BlocPower will release a series of short films documenting the powerful stories behind its Pathways project, through which the organization is providing climate tech career opportunities to 1,000 individuals from gun violence stricken, environmental justice communities across the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.

Today the organization released the project’s launch video, produced by award winning director Jack Riccobono:

The video series will document the first phase of Pathways, a $37MM, 1,500 person program in partnership with the New York City Office of the Mayor.

As of early October, two months since the project broke ground, BlocPower and its partners have engaged over 1,300 individuals, placed more than 640 into training cohorts and advanced close to 100 participants to on-the-job placements. The organization expects its NYC-based Civilian Climate Corps to reach 1,000 in training by November.
